Manhattan Review has been facilitating student accomplishment since we were founded in 1999, and we have helped thousands of clients get accepted to the most prestigious universities in the English-speaking world. Our hiring process for ACT tutors and instructors is extremely selective, and only applicants with strong academic credentials, years of teaching experience, high test scores, and engaging personalities make the cut. Those that pass Manhattan Review's rigorous screening process are thoroughly trained in our proven course materials, detailed course syllabi, and original instructional methodologies before entering the classroom.

Johannesburg students who sign up for Manhattan Review's ACT prep services are assured of receiving top-quality instruction from the best local ACT educators.
Johannesburg students preparing for the ACT must carefully consider the scores reported by their preferred undergraduate programs, because these statistics will help establish score benchmarks for optimal chances of acceptance. UC Berkeley, for example, publishes detailed numbers on the average ACT scores in several applicant categories. Middle 50% ACT composite scores at UC Berkeley are listed as 20-34, but the misleading nature of this range is shown by taking a closer look at the numbers. The most recent class profile differentiates between applicants and admitted students, in terms of their region of origin (California, out-of-state, and international). The average ACT score of all UC Berkeley applicants from California is 28, but the mean score for accepted state residents is 31. Successful out-of-state and international applicants averaged a composite ACT score of 33, reflecting the preference given to students from California. A Johannesburg student interested in UC Berkeley should therefore strive for an ACT score of at least 33.

Manhattan Review's test prep services have helped students around the world get accepted to exclusive universities. Our test prep instruction has regularly produced high test scores and acceptance to Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT, Caltech, the University of Pennsylvania, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Cornell, the University of Virginia, Stanford, Emory, Duke, Georgetown, the University of Michigan, NYU, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, and many other great schools. Our test prep clients are well prepared to succeed in higher education and beyond. Former Manhattan Review students have been hired by Fortune 500 companies and businesses in Johannesburg, including Exxon Mobil, General Electric, State Farm Insurance, Energy Transfer Equity, African Alliance Investment Bank, Northam Platinum, Dimension Data, and Phoebus Apollo Aviation. At Manhattan Review, we won't hesitate to brag about the accomplishments of our former students, but we are even more enthusiastic about the next generation of university students. Let us help you get started right away on a lifetime of success.

Meet a Johannesburg ACT Tutor: Ethel A.

Ethel A. graduated in the top 5% of her high school class in her native Charleston, South Carolina. She then completed a bachelor's degree in English literature at the University of Florida and a master's degree in international relations at George Washington University. She has been an ACT tutor in the United States and South Africa since 2007, and was also an English teacher at a Virginia private high school for three years.

Ethel's ACT students have been accepted to Ivy League schools, selective public universities, and elite liberal arts colleges. Her student evaluations indicate that her ACT clients have a high degree of respect for her approach to teaching ACT prep, and they also enjoy her entertaining style of teaching. She is a flexible educator who has successfully taught in classroom, online, and individual settings, and her enthusiasm for test prep instruction is obvious to all of her students.
